The name ‘Methuselah’ is derived from ‘Mutos’ (ሙቶስ) and ‘Ale’ (አለ) ፥ the meaning is ‘died, but stil alive’ / Ibid.
The son of Enoch, and grandfather of Noah; He was the oldest man of whom we have any record, “And Enoch lived sixty and five years and begat Methuselah” (Gen 5:21-27)
